This club has a lot of bright prospects, and the Academy is full with talented youngsters with huge potential. We’ve seen many youth players leave the club because they weren’t good enough to make it in to the first team but that shouldn't be the case with some players from this new generation. There are players who flatter to deceive and are great in the youth ranks but then struggle to perform for the first team. That shouldn’t be a problem with Arsenal’s young right back, Tafari Moore. Tafari Moore is only 16 years old and is one of the most highly rated prospects in our Academy.
Goonersphere's Arsenal Academy column aims to keep you up to date with the happenings at Hale End. Here we hope to feature news, match previews, reviews, opinions and player profiles.
Arsenal’s right-back position has been covered really well recently with Sagna and Jenkinson being the ones who are available for selection. There will be a problem with the right-back position if Sagna desides to leave in the summer without any compensation as his contract expires in June. Jenkinson isn’t highly rated by many of our fans but I love him and I expect a lot from him in the future. Although, there is another promising youngster who is more than ready to step up in the first team and that’s Hector Bellerin. The young Spaniard joined Arsenal in 2011 alongside his fellow teammate Jon Toral from Barcelona. Hector Bellerin also plays for the Spanish U19 National Team.
Arsenal's striker hunt has been going on for 2 years and with no new additions it will continue into the summer transfer window. This isn't the ideal situation for Gooners, desperate to see Arsenal capitalise on their best league performance for some time but is it possible that the striker Arsenal are looking for is already at the club? Today on Goonersphere, we'll be looking at Chuba Akpom, the most prospective youngster in the Arsenal Academy. Akpom has been with Arsenal since the age of 6, having previously attracted interest from West Ham United and Charlton Athletic.
