Signings of Arsenal Past, Present, & Future

2013-14 Season - A.K.A. THE YEAR WE WON THE CUP

Ozil

Mesut Özil - £42.5 million
Apps - 40
Goals - 7
Assists - 14

Sometimes I have to pinch myself just to make sure I'm not dreaming when I see this man in an Arsenal kit. Those that don't appreciate and admire his skill don't understand football. He essentially signalled a changing of the tide around Arsenal. We're not afraid to spend anymore. Hopefully next season he'll be even better and everyone will get of his back.

Other notable signings - Yaya SaNoGoals, Mathieu Flamini

2014-15 Season - A.K.A. THE YEAR WE'RE GOING TO WIN EVERYTHING (don't take this seriously I'm not as deluded as a Scouser)

Alexis Sanchez - £30 million (So far)
Apps - 0
Goals - 0
Assists - 0

Just in case you thought Ol' Mesut was a "one-off" or something like that. This man saved a rabbit. He's also seriously good at football. I'm going to enjoy this one.

Other notable signings - Laia Grassi

I hope you enjoyed this trip down memory lane. I think looking at the "Other notable signings" section was more telling than just the priciest signing, especially for 2010-11. The number of flops in there is really quite laughable.

This all shows how far we've come, and this supposed "dark age" of our history in the trophy drought will be looked back on in the future as Wenger's greatest years. Any other manager would've had us relegated or in serious debt, but Wenger was able to keep us stable and filled with hope for the future. Now we've got one of the best stadiums and squads in the world, and I couldn't be any prouder in saying I'm Arsenal through and through. Here's to the future.

Anyway, that's all for today. Sorry about last time when I said I'd blog on Thursday and then didn't. I was really busy then, and I think I'll just be doing two a week from now on. One around the weekend and one around the middle of the week. Thanks for reading, and any feedback is welcome.
