Firstly, I'm afraid to say this is about England. So feel free to stop reading, I know I would. However, if you are one of the few people that still gives a damn about the national team, here are my thoughts on the dwindling support for the national team in the last 5 or so years:
A Song Of Arse & Fire
Student and gooner, Arsenal remains my one and only love - although Arsene Wenger would run pretty close. Eternal realist and strong believer in securing a long term future over short term trophy aspirations.
The start of Arsenal's season has left much to dwell on for Arsene Wenger and his associates. Despite a convincing, and perhaps even impressive victory against Manchester City in the Community Shield, Arsenal have produced two less than acceptable performances against Crystal Palace and Besiktas - leaving many fans concerned that, with less than 10 days of the transfer window remaining, Arsenal may not quite get the players they need this summer - despite how fruitful this summer has already been for them.
Having signed Alexis Sanchez, won a trophy and with players like Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Özil and Theo Walcott set to finally link up in the same team all relatively free of injury, most Arsenal fans you will speak to are cautiously optimistic they might be in with a genuine chance of winning the Premier League title this season. Regardless, it certainly will not be easy for them. Here are five factors that may impact on Arsenal's pursuit of that elusive first league title at the Emirates Stadium:
- What is wrong with Mesut Özil?
- A Transfer Policy Related Rant
- Bringing back Cesc is a no brainer
- A Springboard for Greater Things
- End of season awards
