How Well Do You Know Arsenal?
It has been a while since Arsenal has won a trophy - almost 9 years in fact - and during that time we have seen our top four rivals clock up quite a few trophies but still Arsenal are one of the most successful teams in history, even when compared to Manchester United and Liverpool.
Fortunately, Arsenal have an FA Cup semi-final to look forward to and without wanting to jinx it, much like the League Cup in 2011 this is Arsenal's trophy to lose. Our names aren't on it yet but if we play to the best of our ability and don't mess up then it really should be. It's down to the Arsenal team now to ensure we don't suffer heartbreak like we did in 2011.
What is nice about this cup final is that apart from giving younger fans and relative new-comers to the faithful something positive to remember it also gives some of the older fans, and those students of Arsenal's history, a chance to reminisce about some of our great days out at Wembley and our immortalised players.
An almost unique phenomena to Arsenal supporters is how we are somehow not allowed to be proud of our history because of the trophy drought alas we are accused of being stuck in the past. Appreciating your clubs history is a huge part of being a football supporter so you would expect most supporters to know quite a bit about their club.

A quiz created recently asked Arsenal fans - and fans of other Premier League teams - how well do you know your team? The test, created by Ladbrokes, discovered that compared to supporters of the other 19 sides in the Premier League, Arsenal fans don't know quite as much about the clubs history considering we are all stuck in it.
Asking 10 random questions about all things Arsenal, it found that 8% of fans got 10/10. Whilst less than 1% of Gooners managed to post a score of zero, a further 10% failed to score more than 2/10. The mean score was somewhere in between four and five; 32% of Gunners supporters got this sort of score.
So how do Gooners compare to other fans? Well, it seems that we have edged out Tottenham in the total knowledge stakes, as just 4% of them got 10/10. So at least we've outperformed them in that area but ironically, and for the first time in a while, they are slightly above us in overall average points. We are also a little behind Chelsea overall, as their average score is close to 6/10 compared to 5/10 for us.
Manchester City's fanbase has a greater proportion that knows the club inside out, with an impressive 12% getting a perfect score. However, a paltry 3% did the same for Manchester United, which is either comforting or indicative of how you don't need to look back when you're being successful. Although the Manchester United fans may have to settle for past glories if they continue the way they are. Or could it be that these clubs have less to remember and that's why Arsenal and United fans score lower than Chelsea, Tottenham and City fans?
So how well do you think you know Arsenal? Why don't you take the quiz and see if you can help bump up our score?
