Arsenal's Next Superstar: Daniel Crowley

It won't take much to present you this young and very talented football player, that maybe some of you aren't familiar with. Daniel Crowley born on 3rd of August in 1997, is the most talented and most prospective football player in the Arsenal Academy. After joining from Aston Villa in the summer of 2013 for a near price of £1m, he was immediately expected to be one of the most important players for the U18 squad and despite the team having some problems with winning games this season, he never stopped giving masterclass performances and is definitely one of the leader of the team.

Crowley also featured for England's U16 squad and later he was called up to the U17s. Till now he has made 9 appearances but hasn't yet scored a goal for the England U17s. Crowley last season played for Aston Villa against Arsenal and was definitely the best on the pitch and the leader of their squad as they overran and beat the Arsenal U18 team. After that performance, young Daniel caught the eye of the Arsenal staff and was targeted by the club, with late on being signed. He described his move as a dream come true. After his impressive start to his Arsenal career he instantly got Wilshere's praise as he pointed out to the fans to watch him carefully as he's going to be Arsenal's future star.

Daniel Crowley

By many people Crowley is labelled as the new "Jack Wilshere". He had a successful and excellent U21 début against Sutton United right after joining as they beat them 4-3. We all know that Arsenal in the Wenger era are one of the best clubs for producing and promoting young talents through its Academy. Many Arsenal players have come through the academy and are now Arsenal regulars (Wilshere, Wojciech, Gibbs) and Crowley could be the first to break into the team from this new generation.

Crowley is a player that likes to have the ball at his feet, he really is composed in possession and most certainly is very clever with the ball. Crowley is a player that always finds that extra little bit of space for him to weave his magic. There are no doubts that if Daniel continues to perform well and progress his game he can push and fight for a place in the first team in a few years. He's currently playing for the U18s but if he continues like this it wouldn't be surprising if he starts playing with the reserves. Crowley's natural role is that of a central midfielder but is often more dangerous when playing in the number 10 position right behind the striker. His qualities in that position are demonstrated by his partnership with Chuba Akpom which is working perfectly.

With Crowley giving top performances in every match, he has already shown that he definitely has the qualities to be the leader of both club and country. Crowley has met with Hodgson a couple of times as the England manager is looking for more youngsters to break through in the NT and Crowley could be one of them in near future.

Like Wilshere, Crowley really likes, and has the ability, to get away from defenders very easily and make chances for his team mates. He likes to assist but doesn't mind scoring too. He scored his 1st goal for the U18s in the defeat against Fulham U18 (4-2), his goal was a real beauty to watch as his strike was impossible for the opposition's goalkeeper to save.

Alongside Crowley there are couple of youngsters in the Academy that could have a bright future at this club including Chuba Akpom (currently on loan at Brentford), Gedion Zelalem, Kris Olsson and Jon Toral. In his last game for the U18s in the FA Youth Cup 6-2 win against Peterborough away, Crowley was the MOTM with 4 assists and 2 goals, while Akpom scored a hat-trick and Maitland-Niles scored the opening goal. Despite only being 16 years old Crowley is rated very highly and has a really big future in front of him. His passing range and accuracy is incredible and he is always giving balls to his team mates in time for them to score.

To sum it up, Crowley is definitely one to watch and to remember because it's unbelievable how good this kid is. He has already gained the attention of many Arsenal fans and as I said before Arsenal first team players have noticed him too and are praising him a lot. Also don't be surprised to see Crowley and many other youngsters like Zelalem, Akpom and Olsson involved in the Arsenal pre-season matches as it's the World Cup year.
