Tafari Moore; Future English Arsenal star?

This club has a lot of bright prospects, and the Academy is full with talented youngsters with huge potential. We’ve seen many youth players leave the club because they weren’t good enough to make it in to the first team but that shouldn't be the case with some players from this new generation. There are players who flatter to deceive and are great in the youth ranks but then struggle to perform for the first team. That shouldn’t be a problem with Arsenal’s young right back, Tafari Moore. Tafari Moore is only 16 years old and is one of the most highly rated prospects in our Academy.

Tafari Moore established himself as the regular right back for the U18s team this season after his impressive performances in the second half of the 2012/2013 season. After making his debut last January for the U18s away at Norwich, he has been steadily improving and has stepped his game up - securing his scholarship deal with the club in the process. Moore, is a player that always gives his best and he has continued to work hard in training to secure his place in the U18s team. Tafari has played for England's Youth teams and has been capped by the U16s and U17s National Team. Tafari was a regular starter for the U16s last season but was called up a few times for the U17s this season were he performed well when given the chance. Tafari impressed the coaches a lot with his performances for the England's U16s team last season which made it clear that he's going to become even better in the future.

Moore sometimes fills in at the left back position due to injuries and he really doesn't have any problem adapting to that side for the matches where he has to replace the injured young left backs. Despite his talent and big potential, there are still some aspects of his game that require improvement. The main side that he needs to improve is his decision making when being under pressure. Tafari is a fast learner and can improve his weak side with time to follow but recently he’s been compared to Arsenal’s first choice right back, Bacary Sagna. Finding a direct long-term replacement for the Frenchman looks to be a hard task these days but it seems Tafari has similar qualities to Sagna so the club may have "the new Bacary Sagna" on their hands in a few years.

Replacing Sagna will be really hard for Arsenal but the club has a few candidates in the Academy. The closest one to the first team at this moment is Bellerin but while he was out on loan at Watford, Tafari Moore was given the chance to start and prove himself for the U21s. He used that chance to impress and has been getting a lot of credit for his defensive attributes. While Hector was out on loan, Moore had an outstanding run of games where he was unstoppable and was one of the most in form youngsters in the U21s squad.

Moore’s very comfortable when attacking and he offers amazing support to the winger in front of him. He doesn’t have any problems with helping out the team when attacking from the right side and his link up play with the right winger is pure brilliance. The best part of his game is the menacing crosses he delivers in the final third. Some players have difficulties dropping back to defend when needed, or asked, but that isn’t a problem for Moore as he’s exceptional at transitioning from attack to defence and vice-versa. Overall he’s outstanding and is rock solid in defence and is even better in attack - a truly modern full back. He is incredibly well-balanced and it's amazing to think he is just 16 years old. He contains the potential to be one of the best right backs in the future. His performances have shown that you won’t find a player similar with his qualities anytime soon. Moore is a really promising youngster with a bright future ahead of him at both international and club level. As well as Arsenal, England will be lucky to have him in the National Team in the future. I rate him very highly and I expect even more from him in the next two to three years. If he continues to play like this and if he improves his game, without any doubts he'll be fighting for a first team spot sooner than later.
