After Leicester pummelled Man City on Saturday, it was absolutely vital for us to get three points at Bournemouth. I haven’t really taken Leicester seriously this season, but I think their result at the Etihad can leave no doubt, the midlands team are bang in the race, if not the favourites. I was completely wrong and ahead of our huge clash with them at the Emirates, there could be no slip-ups on the coast.

Sometimes it is a very stressful and painful thing to be an Arsenal fan. From a few points clear in first place to sitting behind Sp*rs in fourth, our start to the year has been quite simply, wretched. What was a blip when we drew at Liverpool and Stoke is turning into an alarming and very damaging slump, that has seen us take just three points from a possible twelve, while rivals have hit form. After such promise early on, we’re all experiencing de ja vu as the title challenge slips away and is replaced by a scramble for fourth.

Match Review: Arsenal 2 Burnley 1 - FA Cup 30.01.2016

Progress though we did, Arsenal more stumbled into the FA Cup fifth round than anything else. A much changed team edged past tricky Burnley side that gave us a scare in the Premier League last season. The Championship side, looking to bounce straight back to the Premier League after relegation last year, provided a stern test. Still, a win is a win and right now it’s a welcome one coming off an inauspicious start to the year and while the title challenge is stuttering slightly, the defence of the Cup is still on track.
