Couldn't Score Theo's Goal On FIFA
Fantastic result wasn't it? Putting aside the scoreline, which flatters Marseille a little due to an extremely dubious 90th minute penalty, it was a job well done by the lads.
I felt Özil and Wilshere had trouble getting into the game and the poor pitch made us seem a little disjointed in the first half but 0-0 at half time was a fair score as Marseille threatened very little.
It was great to see Ramsey on the scoresheet again but it is Theo's goal that I want to talk about. It was simply perfection. Anyone who has played football at any time in their life will tell you how hard it is to score on the volley like that but when you factor in the top level opposition, the speed of the ball, the hostile environment and the technique and composure needed to hit that as sweetly as he did speaks volumes for the finish.

When I was a kid and someone scored a spectacular goal, you would spend hours the next day recreating it in your back garden or the park. Times have certainly changed as I saw online last night that someone had recreated the goal on FIFA!
I guess that makes sense in the technological age we live in and probably is a better way for me to recreate the goal as I think I'd get some funny looks down the park if I did what I did when I was 12 and scored the goal before running around with my shirt over my head.
It seems that everyone has a copy of FIFA and many have pre-ordered the new FIFA, if you haven't you can sell your old FIFA game and use the cash to buy the new one. Come September 27th when FIFA 14 is out we'll probably set up an online competition so the Goonersphere writers and Goonersphere readers can play against each other online.

People talk about real footballers playing like they are on a Playstation but I doubt any of us will score as good a goal as Theo did last night on our Playstations/Xboxes.
Here is a video of if so you can enjoy it over and over again.
I think this could be an early contender for goal of the season and I doubt we'll see many better.
