The Best Arsenal Bets To Make

We are only four Premier League games into the 2016-17 season and it’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting campaigns in recent memory. Arsenal has two wins, a draw, and a loss, but how do we see the rest of the season panning out? Online sportsbook Bovada prices Arsenal as +1000 (10/1) to win the Premier League this season behind Manchester City, Manchester United, and Chelsea, with Manchester City currently odds-on favourites at -110 (10/11).

Does this seem like a fair assessment? We think so, to a point. Man City look frighteningly good, at least they did during the first half of their 2-1 away win at Manchester United. They have spent big money this summer and will likely buy again in January. Manchester United have the Jose Mourinho factor and look completely rejuvenated under the Portuguese genius, as would most teams with the amount of money spent before the transfer window slammed shut.

The only one we do not agree with is Chelsea being shorter odds to win the league than the Gunners. In our eyes, Chelsea have started well but have shown a few chinks in their armour. Signing N’Golo Kante was a masterstroke but David Luiz is liable at best while Michy Batshuayi is untested at the top level.

We think the bookmakers believe a lack of European action will benefit Chelsea, and Liverpool for that matter, who are -165 (3/5) for a top-four finish, compared to Arsenal’s -133 (3/4).

We can see Arsenal finishing third behind the two Manchester clubs, simply because Arsene Wenger has decided not to invest the club’s money in a 20+ goal a season striker. Although speculation is rife Arsenal will go back in for Alexandre Lacazette, who recently rejected a new contract from his current club, Lyon. Should Arsenal net their man, he could be the missing piece in the jigsaw. And then we would love their +1000 odds to win the league.

Arsenal also excel in the FA Cup, which they have won 12 times. Bovada price an Arsenal FA Cup win at +800 (8/1), making them fourth favourties. There’s nothing stopping Arsenal from winning what would be their third FA Cup in four seasons. We have a feeling that Wenger is going to be focussing his efforts on the Premier League and Champions League this campaign, though.

The team's fringe players, however, are good enough to get Arsenal into the quarterfinals before the big guns take over. This is your best Arsenal bet of the season as they have the depth and pedigree to lift the F.A. Cup without batting an eyelash.

Speaking of the Champions League, is this the year Arsenal progress beyond the Round of 16?

If Arsenal can top their group, which is a likelihood in our opinion, they will advance to at least the quarterfinal. Arsenal is currently pegged at +2500 (25/1) to win the Champions League and find themselves in Group A with Basel, Ludogorets, and Paris Saint-Germain, the latter -175 (11/20) favourites to win the group ahead of Arsenal at +150 (6/4).

The Parisians are not the side they used to be and Arsenal are more than capable of getting a result or two against them, paving the way for a potentially easier draw in the next round.
