Wenger: Rosicky Will Be Here Next Season
Tomas Rosicky is entering the final 5 months of his existing contract at Arsenal and after two years of influential performances, with injury problems mostly behind him, Arsenal fans were keen to see the Czech star stay a little longer.
In December Rosicky spoke about his contract situation and had this to say:
"I would like to carry on [at Arsenal] but there are a few question marks. I would say within a few weeks we will know more. If the day comes and I leave Arsenal, then I will be surely considering a move to play on a different continent. If it was possible, I would love to end my career at Arsenal, which is something I have said many times before. Naturally, I would love to continue. It's hard to leave a top club like Arsenal. It's a club where I have had everything I have ever been searching for in the football side of things."

When asked about reports which said he would automatically be given a one-year extension to his Gunners' contract if he makes 25 appearances for the club this season, he called the suggestion "absolute nonsense" stating:
"We have been discussing a new contract with Arsenal but I need to speak to Mr Wenger."
During his Friday press conference today Wenger stated:
"Look, Tomas Rosicky will stay here at the end of the season. He is a marvellous player and contributes well to the team. He is certainly a typical Arsenal player in the way that he is mobile, technically sound and team orientates. So he is a fantastic football player."
This will surely be welcome news for the Gooners desperate to see Tomas stay on a while longer and help the team to future success, especially after the midfield star missed so much football during his first 6 years.
