QPR Vs Arsenal Match Preview
Arsenal go into their next game in a superb run of form however with their destiny currently out of their own hands they could find themselves a point behind top four rivals Tottenham by the time they kick-off. Tottenham line up on Saturday against a Southampton team needing a win to be mathematically safe from relegation however a point would probably do so Spurs should expect a tough match.
Arsenal's rivals for the top four don't have easy run-ins and Arsenal's destiny may be back in their hands by 5pm on Saturday. With Chelsea facing off with champions Manchester United before taking on Spurs in midweek the race for the top four couldn't be more exciting. Another exciting race this weekend is the Kentucky Derby and a bet on the Kentucky Derby adds to the excitement of the football this weekend. We're going for Verrazano, Spurs draw, Chelsea loss and an Arsenal win.
But back to the race for fourth.
Arsenal are top of the form table, unbeaten in 7 and have taken 17 points out of the last 21.
QPR should have great difficulty in resisting Arsenal's attack and with nothing to play for except pride this could be a rout for Arsenal. However, as we have seen in the past, relegated teams with nothing to play for except pride can still do the business and Arsenal should be wary of this.
Olivier Giroud will be serving the second match of his three match ban and with Podolski still off colour we may well see Gervinho or Theo up top to give us a bit more pace and movement. With a beast like Samba to face off against I'd rather Podolski started again but think he'll be on the bench.
Remy is probably the man to watch at QPR but after relegation and being slated by the manager and the chairman pretty much all of their players may feel they have something to prove. Arsenal will be hoping the team of mercenaries show up and not a team of players looking to impress potential employers.
The back four has been solid for a number of weeks but after his United nightmare Sagna may well find himself on the bench. Should that happen, Jenkinson will come in and hopefully will offer a little more focus at the back and a bit more going forward.
If the defence stays solid and maintains concentration then the attack will do their job and put QPR to bed early.
Arsenal need to keep throwing down the gauntlet to Spurs and Chelsea as Chelsea have an incredibly tough run-in and Spurs are perpetual chockers. We predict a 3-0 win.
