Match Review: Liverpool 5 Arsenal 1 - Premier League 08.02.14

If you’re looking for positivity, you will not find much here. Arsenal were put to the sword at Anfield in painful and ruthless style. 20 first half minutes were all Liverpool required to decimate an Arsenal side that had no fight, no passion and left Anfield with their tails between their legs. Szczesny, perhaps the one player who didn’t do much wrong, apologised on Facebook after the game, calling it ‘f….ing embarrassing’ and he was not wrong. The Gunners were humiliated and now the questions about whether we can last the distance have resurfaced.

Match Review: Arsenal 2 Crystal Palace 0 - Premier League 02.02.14

After the madness of the transfer window, finally we were able to enjoy some actual football. Arsenal took the chance to return to the top of the table as they despatched a stubborn Palace side. Amidst a frosty atmosphere at the Emirates stadium, the team did what they’ve been doing all season, winning. Another comfortable victory against one of the lower placed teams in the league and ahead of what was dubbed ‘Oil Cashico’, the Gunners ensured that they made a gain on both Chelsea and Man City.

Match Review: Southampton 2 Arsenal 2 - Premier League 28.01.14

I think Arseblog summed it up perfectly on Wednesday morning. The match against Southampton was a stumble, not a fall. We played very poorly in the first half and no more than OK in the second and we came away with a pretty fortunate point in the end. To be honest I’m quite relieved we did get a point considering how the match panned out. From, beginning to end it was a bit of a disaster, starting with the coach arriving late and ending with a red card that sees Flamini miss four big games. Yet it’s not the beginning of the apocalypse, as many seem to feel. We’re coming off the back of seven wins, a slip was never going to be far away and remember Man City, the great and powerful titans of world football, only achieved a point at St Mary’s too.
