Arsenal or Liverpool: Will the Gunners get their Revenge this Season?
This weekend, Arsenal faces Liverpool in what is the highlight of match day 27 in the Premier League. Arsenal are currently in fourth place in the league standings with an extra match to play, while the Reds are one-point behind in fifth. The last time that they met, Liverpool was able to overcome the Emirates and beat Arsenal 4-3. Both teams have been inconsistent lately and are in need of a solid win tonight. The question is, which team will be in better form?
The Reds are at home and seeking their second league win of 2017. Their run of bad luck has seen them lose to teams like Swansea City, Southampton, the Wolves, Hull and last week against Leicester. They did pull out a big 2-0 home victory against Tottenham on February 11, but the team does not look like they are in-synch, nor in the form they should be in at this point of the season. Surprisingly, Liverpool are the favourites to win tonight's game, as can be seen here, but will Jurgen Klopp finally get things on track?
The Gunners got a much-needed break last week in the Premier League, as their match with Southampton was postponed last week. Their 2017 has not been the best either, they lost 5-0 to Southampton in the EFL and then lost matches to Watford and Chelsea. Most recently, they were crushed by Bayern Munich in the Champions League 5-1 at Allianz Arena, but they did get a win in the FA Cup on Feb 20, albeit against Sutton United. Arsène Wenger needs his team to improve their level of play if they are to make some space between themselves and the Reds in the standings.
Both teams have the ability to create great chances on offence, but it could be the defensive end that decides the outcome tonight. Expect an action-packed match with a lot of scoring chances on both ends of the pitch.
