What can we tell about footballers by the cars they drive?

It’s no secret that many footballers in the world’s biggest club competitions are paid far more than many of us on modest incomes. In the case of superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Gareth Bale, they’re often paid more than £100,000 a week, giving them plenty to spend when they’re not training or playing.
If you had that amount of spare cash in your bank account, what would you do with it? The likelihood may be that you decide to buy a fancy car, something many of the players in this infographic have done to varying degrees.
As one of the most flamboyant and arrogant players in the world, you would expect Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo to have a flash motor, and he does – the £1.5m Bugatti Veyron. Like him, it’s exceedingly fast, looks good and can turn on a sixpence, plus it’s rare to find a car with such a high level of performance.
At the other end of the scale, the former Arsenal and Barcelona striker Thierry Henry has many cars, but his main motor is a relatively down-to-earth Audi 4x4, costing him just £60,000! Although not in the same league as a Veyron, it’s still more expensive than something us mere mortals can afford!
