When it comes to Arsenal’s chances in the Champions League, it seems their strength is in their defence.
For a team that has come under fire from their own manager, their recent success has strengthened their position in the field and given hope to their legions of fans throughout the world.
Which club will win the 2013/2014 Premier League? Possibly this year is the most difficult to call for some time as there have been so many changes. Since Manchester United appointed a new manager in David Moyes, the clubs form has been somewhat questionable.
With a shock home defeat to West Brom and a derby day mauling by rivals Manchester City, United’s odds have slumped to 8/1 to retain their title. City on the other hand spent huge sums in the transfer market, but the results away from home have been atrocious, costing them valuable ground on the chasing pack. However, they are still the bookies favourite, and at 2/1, the punters’ favourite too. But who else is in with a chance of winning, outside of the Manchester clubs.
Arsenal's first test of the week was a Capital One Cup game against London rivals Chelsea which ended in a 2-0 Chelsea win, the goals coming from full back Cesar Azpilicueta and Juan Mata.
Next up was high flying Liverpool at the Emirates on Saturday and the Gunners bounced back from the loss in midweek with a convincing 2-0 win over Liverpool. The goals came from Santi Cazorla and the in-form Aaron Ramsey giving the Gunners all 3 points to send them 5 points clear of Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham in the table.
