I'll admit to feeling wary ahead of Arsenal's trip to Brighton. I'm glad The Arsenal came through it with a 3-2 win because before the match all I could think was we're away from home, in the cup against what will probably be a very much up for it Brighton side this just has, as I told friends, "banana skin written all over it.". Arsenal weren't at their best but they also weren't quite as bad as Manchester United or Liverpool or Manchester City or Swansea or Southampton or Chelsea or Tottenham. It's now perfectly fine to laugh and take the right royal piss out of the appropriate fans. Work on Monday is always that little bit better when you can go in and laugh at people.
A Gooner Matata
A Gooner Matata, what a wonderful phrase...
Chris is a season ticket holder, part-time away fan and is adamant that Arshavin was not a flop! Ask him what he is all about and his answer will simply be "The Arsenal".
Before Arsenal's game against Manchester City if you had asked the two types of player I'd have liked to see Arsenal sign in this January transfer window I'd have quite quickly replied "defensive midfielder and centre back." I'm sure a lot of Arsenal supporters would have said the same and most probably still would but when 6pm came on Sunday I had changed my mind. I think, for the rest of the season at least, we should rock out with our Coq out.
On the 31st of January 2013 Arsenal paid a reported £8.3 million for Spanish left back Nacho Monreal and Twitter was flooded with all those hilarious "Nacho" puns that didn't ever get tiresome. Honestly. They were funny. So funny.
Monreal appeared to initially struggle and became a fall guy for Arsenal fans with moans whenever he appeared in the starting line up. I think he has shaken off the mistakes and the worries though to become a more than able left back. I'm just not quite sure everyone else has realised it yet.
